Change Windows Experience Index rating without making any hardware update to your PC

You can change the experience rating of your windows based system not by buying a new hardware or by maintaining your PC. Someone might ask, what's the use in doing so..?? But, the fact is that WEI impacts the functioning of various programs on the basis of scores obtained. Changing the rating is nothing but performing a hack on the system. The process is as follows.
First create a restore point. Then follow the process as explained below.

Goto C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore . Open a file ending with Formal.Assessment (Initial).WinSAT. If there are many files then check for the current file i.e the most recent one. Open it using a notepad and in the notepad, click on 'edit' tab and look for .Then search using 'find next'.  Now change the values as per your wish. The rating range for Win 7 is 1.0 to 7.9.

  1. System Score tags change the overall rating
  2. Memory tags change the Memory rating i.e RAM
  3. Cpu tags change the Processor rating
  4. Graphics tags change the Aero Graphics rating
  5. Gaming tags change the Gaming Graphics rating
  6. Disk tags change the HDD rating
Now save the file to some other location without the change in file name. Now cut the saved file from the location in which you have saved and paste it into the following location i.e; if you have saved it to desktop, then cut the file from desktop and save it in this location. Use copy and replace. C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore

If you find this as tiresome then simply download experience rating editor from jtechsoftwares  and fill in the desired values of ratings.
After doing this, just Re-Run the assessment and rating gets changed.
