A green Technology to keep the Drivers cool.
This air conditioning system can be powered on ,even when the vehicle is stopped and the engine is off. In collaboration with the Green power Industrial Limited, PolyU's the department of Electrical Engineering has developed an air conditioning system for vehicles to turn from the scorching heat into cool air without the waste of the gasoline.
With the help of the photovoltaic technology and the intelligent power control, SAV ignites on-board air-conditioner to solar power when the engine shuts off, and it happens automatically.Even this technique can also be used in minibuses and taxis to avoid pollution and also to gain power output while waiting for the passengers at stations.So this helps for more utilisation of air conditioner for extra hours.
This system has photovoltaic cells that can be placed on top of the car to absorb the solar power and this power can be stored in the battery and can be utilised for later purpose when the car engine is not running.

The panel is accordingly made with the perfect material to hold the cause.This will also help as a thermal insulation for the interior and also to equipments in the vehicle.

The main purpose that it serves is it can lower the petrol and fuel costs and can also reduce the pollution which is really a great help to the mankind. This was first announced last year october and the SAV is installed in a Swire Coco cola hong kong truck. The series of experiments with it proved robust and effective.
For more advancements it is gradually deployed in public transport for better results. Lets all have to hope for advanced designs and good results which safeguards the natural resources and our eco system. SAV is an innovation with an aim to reduce the harmful emissions and also to eliminate the effects of climatic change.
