Daily mail reported that researchers from Penn State University have created an interface that will help Facebook users to keep personal information secret. Researchers claim that, Apps and games in Facebook are getting the related data of the user and and are sending it to the advertisers and other companies. "Members who sign up for an app must agree to new terms of information disclosure that are often different from their main Facebook privacy
settings", researchers say. "The only way to find out how the information is going to be used is to go to each app's website and review the terms of use. And many people won't do that," the Mail quoted Heng as saying.
We generally find in Facebook, whenever we try to open a new app or game, we will be asked to accept their terms and conditions, if not, user cannot access the app. The screen designed by the researchers allows members to decide what types of information they are comfortable sharing and with whom they want to share it. A Facebook spokesperson said: "This research was conducted using a sample size of just 11 people and makes a number of misleading claims."
