Use of skype soars

Skype had 560 million registered users at the end of 2009; this number increased to 663 million a year later, as per ET.

"I started using Skype for official purpose some three years ago, mainly for videoconferencing with colleagues in Chennai and Kochi. I have also used it for chat and sometimes for urgent file transfers," says Suresh Kaimal, vice-president of Wealth Advisors India. Kaimal adds that he also uses Fring to make free calls to friends abroad. "The voice is clear. The best part is it can be downloaded to your phone, if supported, and can be used for making a call."
